Step 1 Add the Key to the Registry
Open the registry editor by click on start menu and type registry. Then locate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\Setup\MoSetup
Note: if you don’t see the mo setup folder, go back and install all updates for Windows 10 and then come back.
And then copy the following name.
Next, in the most setup folder, right click on new and create a dword 32-bit value, then paste the name we just copied into this box. Right click the name we created and choose modify and press 1 into the value data box and then hit on OK button. After that, restart your surface.
Step 2 Create Windows 11 Installation Media
Go to the Microsoft site and to download Create Windows 11 Installation Media.
Then open the downloaded media creation tool. Go through the prompts, choose USB flash drive and make sure you use a black flash drive because all things on it will be erased.
Insert the USB flash drive into the Surface pro 3,4,5, click next and select the flash drive you just connected and then click on next. Wait for the Windows 11 downloads.
Next, we can install Windows 11 on Surface Pro 3, Surface Pro 4 and Surface Pro 5. Open the flash drive and run setup and then click on next, the installer will restart automatically. You need to pass the check since we changed the registry.
After accept, you will see and warming which says you are not recommended to install Windows 11 on Surface Pro 3, Surface Pro 4 and Surface Pro 5 for you will damage your device due to lack of compatibility. If you decide to accept the risk, then click accept button.
